Infrastructure 🛣️
Major N3 Changes Planned: Bus Lanes & New Pedestrian Bridges
Big changes could be coming to one of Dublin 15’s busiest routes.
Plans are underway to introduce:
🚌 Bus priority lanes along the N3
🚶 Two new pedestrian & cycling bridges
🚗 Improvements between Snugborough (Blanch) and Clonee
The proposal would allow buses to use the hard shoulder during peak congestion — aiming to speed up public transport without removing existing traffic lanes.
A public consultation is now open, and locals are being encouraged to have their say.
📍 In-person consultation: Blanchardstown Library – April 28 (4pm–7:30pm)

Retail 📚
Waterstones Opening in Blanch Centre This Summer 📚
A major new retailer is on the way.
Waterstones is set to open a brand new bookshop in Blanchardstown Centre in June 2026 - marking the first new store in the Republic of Ireland in 20 years.
The new store promises:
📖 A wide range of books for all ages
🎁 Gift options and curated recommendations
👥 A strong community focus with in-store expertise
It’s another sign of continued investment and growth in the centre — and a big win for local book lovers.

“Cheapest Chinese in Ireland” Claim Lands in Corduff
A popular Irish food reviewer, Paul_IsItWorthIt/YouTube, who has visited 200+ Chinese takeaways and has almost 20k subscribers, claims that Yu Young House in Corduff may be the cheapest in the country.
The reviewer highlighted a full meal including:
Spice bag
Chicken curry & fried rice
Ribs + extras
All at a price point he says is hard to beat anywhere else in Ireland.
It’s another reminder of the strong local food scene - especially for takeaway options.

No active projects underway
No clear timeline for delivery
The plan originally included improvements like:
Safer walking & cycling routes
Public spaces and community areas
Village centre upgrades
But frustration is growing that progress has stalled - with calls now for clarity on what happens next.
