Gardaí seized 11 e-scooters, two e-bikes and a scrambler bike during a targeted operation across Blanchardstown and Finglas this week.

The operation was supported by a Garda drone, giving officers an aerial view as they targeted the illegal use of electric vehicles in public spaces.

One man has since been charged and another young person will be dealt with through the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.

The crackdown comes ahead of new national rules expected next month, including a proposed ban on under-18s using e-scooters alongside mandatory helmets and high-visibility clothing.

Blanchardstown has found itself in the international spotlight after an American news outlet interviewed local residents about their experiences with Manna drone deliveries.

The feature comes as the Irish company prepares to launch in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where residents are raising similar concerns around noise and community impact.

Several Blanchardstown residents described the noise from the drones and reflected on the local campaign that opposed the service. Manna, meanwhile, said its decision to pause Irish operations was due to planning and regulatory uncertainty rather than customer demand.

It's another reminder that what happened here in Dublin 15 is now being watched well beyond Ireland.

Organisers are also looking for volunteers to help across the weekend.

Ongar Community Centre has announced its annual Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday 6th September.

While full details are still to be revealed, organisers promise entertainment and activities for all ages.

Catch Dance Academy is bringing Dance in the Park back to Hartstown Park this summer.

The free weekly sessions run every Wednesday from July 29th until August 19th, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

No dance experience is needed, with the meeting point beside the caged monument near the car park.

Residents are being encouraged to have their say on plans to increase Dublin Airport's passenger capacity from 32 million to 40 million passengers per year.

The public consultation also proposes expanding home sound insulation measures for households affected by aircraft noise.

Submissions are open until 3rd September.
