Hey {{first name | Blanch}}, happy Friday! ☀️

Hey Blanch, welcome to Edition 12 of The Blanch Bulletin.

There’s a real post–Paddy’s Day buzz around Dublin 15 this week. After a brilliant few days across Fingal, we’re back with your weekly round-up of what’s happening locally.

As always - if you’re enjoying the newsletter, please share it with someone local. It really helps it grow.

Now, let’s get into it 👇

Street Feast Roadshow Coming to Mulhuddart 🍽️

Fingal is getting ready for one of Ireland’s biggest community events — and it starts locally.

The Street Feast Roadshow is coming to Mulhuddart Community Centre on Saturday, March 28th (1:30pm – 3:30pm), giving locals everything they need to host their own street party this May.

Street Feast weekend (May 23–24) brings over 50,000 people together nationwide — and the roadshow will include:

  • Free resources & planning packs

  • Tips on hosting your own event

  • A chance to meet neighbours already organising feasts

It’s a simple idea that brings communities together — and great to see it landing in Dublin 15.

  • Rights & entitlements

  • Personal safety

Cinema 🍿

Silvers Screens: €2 Cinema Screenings for Over 60s at ODEON

ODEON’s “Silvers” screenings are running locally, offering:

  • Tickets from just €2

  • Tea, coffee & biscuits included

  • A mix of new releases and classic films

These take place during quieter daytime hours and are aimed at over 60s (with some flexibility depending on the film).

Transport 🚌

Route 70 Bus Set to Be Replaced

Changes are on the way for local bus services.

The current 70 bus route is set to be replaced by a new L64 route, which will:

  • Run more frequently

  • Connect into higher-frequency “spine” routes (B1–B4)

  • Improve access to the city via Blanchardstown

However, there are currently no plans for a direct route between Ongar/Castaheany and Clonee, which may be a concern for some commuters.

Mulhuddart Bridge Strikes Again

The well-known low bridge on Blakestown Road has claimed another vehicle this week.

A truck became lodged under the structure — something that’s happened many times before due to its 2.6m height clearance.

Traffic was temporarily disrupted while emergency services cleared the scene.

At this stage, it’s probably the most battered bridge in Ireland.

Friday night: Another dry night with long clear spells though more cloud will move into the northwest later in the night. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees generally, possibly a little colder in the southwest. Areas of fog will develop again in near calm conditions, most likely in the south and east.

It will be duller in parts of the northwest though with a few spots of light rain or drizzle. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in light variable breezes.

Paddy’s Day ☘️

St Patrick’s Day Across Fingal Was a Huge Success 🇮🇪

Blanchardstown was absolutely packed on March 17th, with huge crowds lining the route from Main Street through to Clonsilla Road. The atmosphere was one of the best in years — great weather, strong community turnout, and plenty of colour across local groups and clubs.

Across Fingal, eight parades took place in:

  • Blanchardstown

  • Swords

  • Balbriggan

  • Malahide

  • Rush, Lusk, Skerries & Donabate

From marching groups to live music and creative floats, it was a brilliant day.
